How
are CURT searches and INTF1 searches different?
The CURT responds to local call-outs for missing persons that are
lost in the wilderness or other urban (non-disaster) areas. The
INTF1 responds to both natural and manmade disasters where victims
are trapped beneath the rubble of collapsed structures.
What
breeds does your team use?
Our dogs represent a variety of breeds. Currently, the team has
an Australian Shepherd, three Border Collies, two German Shepherds,
three Labrador Retrievers, a Malinois and two mixed breed dogs (Border
Collie mix, Labrador Retriever mix).

No,
all of our handlers volunteer their time.
Do you have to be a member of the Indiana Task Force Canine
Division to be a member of CURT?
Yes, CURT is a subdivision of the Indiana Task Force Canine Division.
All CURT members are active members of INTF-1 and train their dogs
to the FEMA certification standard.
